Holy Grail

Chateau de Versailles

Everyone knows the great building; Chateau de Versailles? The band Versailles certainly inspired themselves on this building or probably more on the artistic period: Baroque.

This period used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance and grandeur in sculptures, painting, architecture, literature, dance and music!

This style period started around 1600 in Rome (Italy) and spread to Europe.

Paintings

A famous painter from Baroque is: Pietro da Cortona. He’s especially famous because of his fresco’s. (Fresco is a painting on wet chalk) Most of his works are in Rome and one of his most famous works is painted in  Palazzo Barberini. Very typical is the symmetry, the themes are always religious, lots of details, most of the time dramatically, lot of expression (more than earlier style periods), movement,…

Diego Velazquez is a wonderful painter in my opinion as well! He’s a Spanish painter from the Baroque. Las Meninas is one of his most famous works. Again the symmetry, dark contrast comes back though this painting more statical while the other one was more dynamical. (I can describe this painting in details, perhaps I’ll do that in a different post if you want me to)

The architecture

Anyone familiar with “le Roi-Soleil” or Louis XIV who also named himself King of the sun. Louis XIII was the one who ordered to build this castle 19 km south from Paris and his son Louis XIV  was the one who expanded it to this lovely building we know now as Chateau de Versailles. The first architect was Louis Le Vau. In 1680 was Jules Hardouin-Mansart the one who expanded the castle enormously. The interior was designed by Charles Le Brun.

It’s one of the biggest Castles on earth! 226 residences and twice as much apartments.

If you would like to see the interior but haven’t the time to visit Versailles, you can watch movies where the same interior is used. Valmont (1989) Marie-Antoinette and The Man in the Iron Mask (1998). I guess almost everyone knows Marie Antoinette. I guess she also can be put more in the Rococo style Period, Versailles (band) certainly has influences of this style as well. Only this style is softer. 

It's definitely all about the details. Now you can compare this with the band Versailles. A lot of similarities isn't it? 


Ow, and all the gold you see, it was real, I don't know if it still is, but it used to be. Can you imagine how much money this must have cost while there were a lot of people starving? 

Fanmail / Ameba

Hello dear roses,

Anyone familiar with Ameba? Yuki, Teru and Masashi have a blog on the Japanese site. Probably it’s just a Japanese blogger site just like we use blogspot.

If you want to send fan mail to either one of them you have to make an Ameba yourself! Unfortunately everything is in Japanese so I’ll try to help you.

Register on Ameba

1) http://www.ameba.jp/ go to this page.

2) Then you get this layout! You have to click on the orange button to register. The other two columns are to sing in, when you already have an account.

2) You have to fill in your e-mail address.

3) Press an extra button to confirm.

4) Go to your e-mail and press the first link!

5) Now you get a registering page. 

6) A confirm page where you have to fill in the secure code at the bottom of the page.

7) After that you get another e-mail to say your registration was successful. Now you can just continue by pressing the green button.  

Change Profile (extra)

1) First we’re going to change our picture. This is very simple. Just follow the instruction. It’s like you normally upload a picture

2)  Just write a text about you as introduction and press the green button when you are finished!

3) You can write blogs,.. if you’re interested in further instructions, you may always ask me.

Write a fanmail

Its very simple. Go to the account of one of the members of Versailles.

Registering on Kamijo's world

I got this request, because many fans are having difficulties with registering, seeing everything is in Japanese. I have written down some steps to help you, and I hope it's useful. Let my know if there are still difficulties. <(n_n)>

1. You have to go to sign in. (on the right)

2. At the bottom of the page you have to give your email. Then press the button next to it. 

3. Afterwards you have two buttons you can press. The first one is to correct your e-mail. The second to register.

4. Then you get a text, it says that it has send an e-mail to your e-mail.

5. When you’re at your mail, you normally have a e-mail from Kamijo’s world. Open this mail.  You have to press the first link to register.

6. You scroll down below where you see another bottom you can press to agree with the conditions.

7. Than you have to pay. Follow the steps.

8. After that you receive a second mail to confirm.

Ik heb een verzoek gekregen om jullie te helpen met registreren op Kamijo's world omdat er veel fans problemen mee hebben. Ik heb enkele stappen genoteerd om jullie te helpen, en ik hoop dat het nuttig is. Laat het me weten wanneer er nog problemen zijn. 

1. Je moet op "Sign in" klikken. (rechts)

2. Helemaal beneden op de pagina moet je je e-mail invoeren. Hierna op de knop rechts klikken. 

3. Nu heb je twee knoppen waar je op kan klikken. De eerste is om je e-mail aan te passen en de tweede is om verder te gaan. 

4. Je krijgt een tekt waarin staat dat er een e-mail naar jou is gestuurd. 

5. Ga naar je mail, en open de mail van Kamijo's world. Klik op de eerste link.

6. Je moet weer helemaal naar beneden scrollen. Dan klik je op de onderste knop om de voorwaarden te accepteren. 

7. Nu moet je een betalingsmethode kiezen en de stappen volgen. 

8. Je krijgt normaal nog een e-mail ter bevestiging.
